Jade Dragon Darkness Dragon Sculpture

Here is the sculpture I did for my Fantasy Figure Foam Sculpting class.

The process goes like this

STEP 1-We were given a large block of foam and carved it down with clay hoop tools, a pencil, and some other tools. Here are some pics as just the foam sculpture. [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

STEP 2- The piece is covered in a thin coat of resin(tan color). Then overlapping pieces of fiberglass mesh is applied on top with more resin. After sanding, a few layers of bondo (blue/grey color) is applied over. [link] [link] [link] [link]

STEP 3- A acrylic spray sealant is applied on top of the whole sculpture and is sanded again so see the high points/texture in the sculpture. (the grey can in photo is the spray sealant) [link]

STEP 4- Base coat of purple is applied on top and black in some of the divits [link] [link] [link]

STEP 5- Base Coat of other acrylic colors are applied [link] [link] [link] [link]

STEP 6- Dry brush and wash other colors. Insert eyes with silicon and make teeth out of 3 minute drying apoxy. [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] (along with above pictures)
